Age Limit

Technician Grade 3 : Minimum Age – 18 Years  |  Maximum Age – 30 Years

Age Relaxation : Extra relaxation as per Railway / Government of India norms for reserved categories —

• SC / ST: 5 years additional relaxation
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years additional relaxation
• PWD (Persons with Disability): 10 years (UR), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)
• Ex-Servicemen: As per extent of service rendered + 3 years additional
• Candidates domiciled in J&K (01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989): 5 years
• In-service Railway Staff (Group C / erstwhile Group D) with min. 3 years service: 40 years (UR), 43 years (OBC-NCL), 45 years (SC/ST)

Selection Process-RRB Technician CEN 02/2026

1. Stage 1 – Computer Based Test (CBT) : Candidates will appear in an online objective-type CBT covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences), and General Awareness & Current Affairs.
2. Stage 2 – Document Verification (DV) : Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CBT marks (subject to availability of vacancies) will be called for Document Verification. All original educational certificates, community/category certificates, ITI certificates, age proof, and identity proof must be produced.
3. Stage 3 – Medical Examination : Candidates who clear Document Verification will undergo a Medical Examination conducted by Railway Medical Officers to ensure fitness as per the prescribed medical standards for the respective post.
4. Final Merit List : Final selection is strictly based on CBT performance, subject to passing DV and Medical Examination. Reservation rules as per Government of India norms for SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PWD / Ex-Servicemen will apply.

Note : There is no written examination at Stage 2. The CBT is the sole competitive written stage. Normalization of marks will be applied if CBT is conducted in multiple sessions.

Important Instructions-RRB Technician CEN 02/2026

1. Read the official detailed notification PDF carefully before applying. Ensure that you satisfy all eligibility conditions for the post you are applying for.
2. Only ONE application is to be submitted by a candidate. Multiple applications will lead to cancellation of candidature.
3. Candidates must apply through the respective regional RRB website based on their preferred employment zone. Applying through multiple RRB websites is not permitted.
4. The application fee for General / OBC / EWS candidates is ₹500/-, out of which ₹400/- is refunded upon appearing in the CBT. SC/ST/PWD/Female/Ex-Servicemen/Minorities/EBC pay ₹250/- (fully refunded upon appearing in CBT).
5. Candidates must ensure their mobile number and email ID are valid and active throughout the recruitment process as all communications will be sent digitally.
6. Upload a recent passport-size photograph (white background), signature, and left thumb impression in the prescribed format and size.
7. ITI candidates must have completed their ITI course from a NCVT/SCVT recognized institution. The relevant trade must match the post applied for.

How to Apply RRB Technician CEN 02/2026

1. Visit the official regional RRB website applicable to your preferred employment zone (e.g., www.rrbcdg.gov.in for RRB Chandigarh or the respective regional RRB site).
2. Click on the link for “RRB Technician CEN 02/2026 – Apply Online” (will be active from 30 June 2026).
3. Complete the New Registration by entering your Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Email ID. Note down the Registration Number and Password generated.
4. Login using the Registration Number and Password / OTP to access the application form.
5. Fill in all the required fields: Personal Details, Educational Qualification, ITI / Diploma details, Category, and Post Preference.
6. Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size photograph, signature, and left thumb impression in the prescribed format and file size.
7. Pay the application fee online using Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI as per your category.
8. Preview the filled application form carefully, verify all details, and then submit the final form.
9. Take a printout / screenshot of the submitted application form and fee payment receipt for future reference.
10. Download your Admit Card from the same regional RRB website when released, using your Registration Number and Date of Birth / Password.
