Selection Process

• The engagement of Act Apprentices in South Central Railway is purely on merit basis.
• No written examination or interview is conducted for this recruitment.
• Merit list prepared based on average percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (with min 50%) + ITI marks in the trade applied for.
• Calculation: Simple average of Matric % + ITI % (consolidated or average of semesters as per NTC marksheet).
• Merit list prepared division/unit/trade-wise as per choices filled by candidates.
• Shortlisted candidates called for document verification and medical examination.
• Final selection after verification of original documents and fitness as per Railway medical standards.
• Tie-breaking: Higher Matric marks, then higher ITI marks, then older candidate, then alphabetical order of name.
• Selected candidates undergo apprenticeship training for 1-3 years (depending on trade) with stipend as per Apprentices Act rules.
• No guarantee of permanent employment after training; completion certificate issued on successful completion.

• Only one application per candidate; multiple applications lead to cancellation.
• Provide valid and active email ID and mobile number; all communications sent via these.
• Candidates must possess ITI in the trade they apply for; trade mismatch leads to rejection.
• Minimum 50% in 10th is mandatory; candidates below this not eligible even with ITI.
• Application fee non-refundable; pay only through online mode on official portal.
• Apply only through official RRC SCR website; beware of fake websites/agents.
• Keep scanned copies of photo, signature, 10th marksheet, ITI certificate, caste certificate (if applicable) ready.
• Physically fit candidates only; medical standards as per Indian Railway norms apply.
• PwBD candidates must have valid disability certificate from competent authority.

• Click on the link for “Act Apprentices 2025-26 Online Application”.
• Register with valid email ID, mobile number, and create password.
• Log in and fill the online application form with personal, educational, trade, division preferences, etc.
• Upload scanned photo, signature, and required documents in specified format and size.
• Pay the application fee online (if applicable) through net banking/debit/credit card/UPI.
• Review all details carefully and submit the form.
• Take printout of submitted application and payment receipt for future reference.
• Download/save registration number and password for tracking application status/merit list.
