Short Information :          The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the CTET September 2026 Notification on 11 May 2026 on the official website ctet.nic.in. This is the 22nd Edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for the September 2026 session covering Paper I (Classes 1–5) and Paper II (Classes 6–8). Eligible candidates can apply online from 11 May 2026 to 10 June 2026. The CTET Exam 2026 is scheduled on 6 September 2026 (Sunday).

Age Limit

Minimum Age : 18 Years (candidates appearing/passed in final year of qualifying course are eligible)
Maximum Age : No Upper Age Limit (as per CBSE rules, there is NO maximum age restriction for CTET)
Age Relaxation : Not applicable as there is no upper age limit. Refer to the official Information Bulletin on ctet.nic.in for any state-specific norms.

Both Paper I & Paper II Classes I to VIII Candidate must separately meet eligibility for Paper I and Paper II as stated above. A candidate can appear for both papers in the same session. Separate certificates will be issued for each paper cleared.

Selection Process

  1. Written Examination (Offline / Pen & Paper Mode): CTET is conducted as a pen-and-paper-based Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) exam at designated exam centres across India.
  2. MCQ Pattern – No Negative Marking: Each paper has 150 questions for 150 marks. There is NO negative marking for wrong answers.
  3. Qualifying Marks: Minimum 60% (90 out of 150) for General/OBC/EWS candidates. Minimum 55% (82.5 out of 150) for SC/ST/Differently Abled candidates.
  4. CTET Certificate Validity: Lifetime valid (no expiry), as per the latest CBSE rules. Candidates who qualified in any earlier session retain their valid certificate.
  5. Result & Marksheet: CTET Score/Marksheet and Eligibility Certificate will be released on DigiLocker and the official website after result declaration.
  6. No Interview / No Document Verification by CBSE: CTET is only an eligibility test. Actual teacher recruitment (KVS, NVS, Army Schools, etc.) is conducted separately by respective authorities.

  1. Read the complete official Information Bulletin carefully before filling out the application form at ctet.nic.in.
  2. Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria (educational qualification) for Paper I, Paper II, or both before applying.
  3. Apply online only — no offline applications are accepted under any circumstances.
  4. Upload your recent passport-size photograph and scanned signature strictly as per the specifications mentioned in the official bulletin.
  5. Pay the application fee only via approved online modes: Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI. E-Challan is not available for CTET.

How to Apply CTET September 2026 Online Form

  1. Visit the official CTET website: https://ctet.nic.in
  2. Click on “Apply for CTET September 2026” link on the homepage.
  3. Click “New Registration” and fill in your basic details (name, email ID, mobile number, date of birth) to generate your Application Number and Password.
  4. Log in using your generated credentials and proceed to fill out the complete CTET Application Form 2026.
  5. Carefully enter your personal details, contact details, educational qualifications, paper choice (Paper I / Paper II / Both), language preferences, and exam centre preference.
  6. Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.
  7. Proceed to pay the application fee online using Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI.
  8. After successful payment, preview your application form and submit it.
  9. Download and save the Confirmation Page and fee receipt — take at least 2 printouts for future reference. Do NOT send a copy to CBSE/CTET Unit.
  10. If you made any error, use the Correction Window (15–18 June 2026) to edit permitted fields.
